Ceramic Coating Aftercare — Oahu
Your coating is cured enough at pickup for normal driving and rain exposure, and it will continue to harden over the following weeks. The most important early-care rule is to avoid washing, soaps, and detergents for the first two weeks.
The First Two Weeks
What to avoid
- • Do not wash the vehicle.
- • Do not use soap or detergents.
- • Do not use any wash service during this period.
- • Do not aggressively scrub the surface.
Bird Droppings or Tree Sap During the First Two Weeks
CAA usually gives most coating customers a complimentary 32 oz Ceramic Detail Spray. Package contents can vary, so ask CAA if you did not receive one or are unsure which product is compatible with your coating.
- 1. Spray Ceramic Detail Spray onto a soft microfiber towel.
- 2. Gently wipe the contamination.
- 3. Do not aggressively scrub.
- 4. Contact CAA if the contamination does not release easily or you are unsure.
After Two Weeks
Normal proper washing can resume. Wash as needed based on vehicle use and exposure.
CAA recommends hand washing
CAA recommends proper hand washing for ceramic-coated vehicles. Wash in the shade on a cool surface, use a ceramic-safe automotive soap and clean wash media, and dry the vehicle thoroughly so hard water does not air-dry on the surface.

Contact CAA and we'll help recommend an appropriate maintenance option for the coating installed on your vehicle.
Ceramic Detail Spray and Product Compatibility
CAA recommends a ceramic-compatible detail spray instead of a traditional wax routine. Some cleaner waxes and all-in-one products contain mild cleaners or polishing abrasives intended to clean or polish paint, which may be inappropriate over an existing ceramic coating. This does not mean every wax product universally removes ceramic coating.
Use soaps, detail sprays, towels, and maintenance products that are compatible with the coating system installed on your vehicle. DuraSlic Xtreme maintenance products must be compatible with DuraSlic Xtreme.

A free 15-minute inspection or test spot may be appropriate. Depending on the condition, CAA may recommend DIY guidance for light spotting, a ceramic maintenance service for light contamination, or a corrective estimate for heavier or etched damage.
